These two instruments could be an article of their own. The electric guitar led to amazing artists in the 70s and 80s like The Beatles, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd. Unlike artists of today, Pink Floyd et al. Weren’t afraid to make political statements (“tear down the wall!!”) that still ring true today. The artists today have no balls in comparison. They’ve just become pawns of capitalism and hedonism.

The moog modular synthesizer invented a whole new genre of electronic music that continues to build today (house, electronica, etc.). In some ways this “instrument” ended up being even more timeless than the electric guitar. Look at the artists that won Emmy awards even recently like Daft Punk and other popular ones like Avicii. They all got their inspiration from the moog synth. Props to the boomers for making awesome music! Credit where it’s due for sure.
